Episode 77. James B and Eddie are joined by Sara Pezel to discuss two issues involving The Smasher, and the o.g. “smasher”, The Incredible Hulk. Also, Eddie sprinkles in some trivia questions during the episode.
(2:43) The Amazing Spider-man 118 "Countdown to Chaos!"
Joe Robbie is in trouble! The Smasher is trying to kidnap him! Thankfully Spidey swings in to save him by luring the Smasher away. On the rooftops Spidey tags ol' Smashy with a tracker and swings away. Soon after, Peter catches up to MJ, Harry, and Gwen who's very happy to see him.
(11:45) The Amazing Spider-man 119 "The Gentleman's Name is... Hulk!"
Peter has an urgent telegram from Montreal for Aunt May so he goes to visit his doting aunt at her friend Doc Ock's house. She is still caretaker for the house and Doc Ock's associates while he works out his legal problems. While in Canada, Spider-Man runs into The Hulk.

Episode 76. James B and Eddie are joined once again by Spider-Man super reader Kevin Ewing, discussing four Marvel Team Up issues. The last three which are part of a time travel saga.
(2:15) Marvel Team Up 8 Spidey and the Cat, “The Man Killer Moves at Midnight”
Spider-man is attacked by “The Cat” , a super heroine who only wants to show him her powers. The Cat in this issue has been tracking Katrina Van Horn who appears to be a woman killing male politicians.
(6:38) Marvel Team Up 9 Spidey and Iron Man in “The Tomorrow War”
Avengers Mansion has got some sort of force field around it. Iron Man is trying to get in when Spider-Man joins Iron Man as they jump into a break in the forcefield and find themselves in limbo.

Spider-Man reaches the inhumans and with Black Bolt’s insane brother’s help, us the final bomb to send Spider-Man and the inhumans forward in time. They battle their way to Kang and the Tomorrow Man fighting Kang’s army of henchmen and then Spider-Man and the Inhumans finally reach the villains.

(2:10) The Amazing Spider-Man 116 “Suddenly the Smasher!”
Spidey declares he’s bored while he reads a political billboard for Richard Raleigh who's running for Mayor! Thankfully, a 10ft super fast giant illistically named “Smasher” crashes through the billboard! Spidey briefly tangles with the titan but must save two billboard workers and loses the villain. At the Bugle JJJ is reiterating to Joe Robbie that he doesn’t need his political opinions.

(11:42) The Amazing Spider-Man 117 "The Deadly Designs of the Disruptor"
Peter Parker manages to stop the roof collapsing at a charity fundraiser for Richard Raleigh until the people slip away. Following the event, Reed Richards look-a- like Raleigh plays up his tough on crime stance and vows to catch whoever was responsible.

Episode 74. James B and Eddie are discussing two issues involving Doctor Octopus and Hammerhead.
The Amazing Spider-man 114 “Gang war, shmang war! What I want to know is… who the heck is Hammerhead?”
Spidey is springing into action as Hammerhead and his goons fire tommy guns at him! Even Waldo the butler is shooting at spidey which is impressive! Spidey makes a seemingly quick exit only to circle back to take out two of Hammerhead’s best goons and punch Hammerhead's head which is unnaturally flat and solid as a brick.
The Amazing Spider-man 115 “The Last Battle!”
In Doc Ock’s house in Westchester NY, as Spider-man lays unconscious having been hit by the vase of the mighty Aunt May Parker, Hammerhead crashes through the door to settle a score with Doc Ock. The kind doctor quickly hides behind a steel wall and Hammerhead along with his goons realize they are in danger when lasers shoot at them from the hat hooks!

Episode 73. James B and Eddie are discussing two issues involving Doctor Octopus and this week Eddie finally has a bit more to say than he has lately.
(0:58) In The Amazing Spider-Man 112 “Spidey Cops Out” Spidey drops off Martin Blank, the Gibbon in the hospital and tells the nurse to burn his costume Spidey worries about his Aunt May. As if worrying about his Aunt was not enough, Peter has to worry about JJJ who is on his case for not taking any photos lately. Spider-Man shakes down a criminal and finds out there is a gang war going on in Midtown. Who are these gang leaders?
(4:42) A sponsor returns to pitch an updated version of a service they provide.
(7:30) In The Amazing Spider-man 113 “they call the doctor… Octopus!” we begin with Doc Ock whacking the strength enhancing exoskeleton suit from Spidey’s while informing him that he must die! Spidey is very ill and just as Doc Ock is removing his mask he blinds him with web , allowing for a quick exit. Spidey may have the upper hand against Doc Ock but can he handle the new villain “Hammerhead”?
(21:10) James B plays a quick 3 minute game using Eddie’s questions from a previous game in a previous episode to see if he remembers the answers.

Episode 72. James B and Eddie are joined once again by host of the Marvel Events Timeline Podcast, Travis Bow to break down the first appearance of The Gibbon.
(2:00) The Amazing Spider-Man 110 “The Birth of The Gibbon” Peter is worried that Gwen will choose Flash over him. He’s also got no photos from his recent battles and he needs money. In a fit of stupidity he hurls his camera which is caught by agile Martin Blank. Martin is depressed about being freakish looking and Spider-Man tries to cheer him up.
(11:29) The Amazing Spider-Man 111 “To Stalk a Spider”
An injured Kraven the Hunter is revealed to be the character watching the Gibbon from the end of issue110, he convinces The Gibbon that they both hate Spider-Man. Meanwhile Spider-man is seen breaking into Aunt May’s apartment where he finds a note that she’s left for a while and it’s for the best. Somehow this news reaches the Daily Bugle and Spider-Man is accused of kidnapping Aunt May!

Episode 71. James B and Eddie knock out three Marvel Team-Ups in less time than many podcasts can even complete their introduction.
(0:55) “As Those Who Will Not See”
It turns out that The Puppet Master was jealous of his science partner, Jacob, who had a loving wife and child. One day in a fit of jealousy, they were fighting and the radioactive clay exploded and blinded that child, Alicia Masters. Will the Puppet Master restore her vision?
(4:11) “The Mighty Army of the Moleman”
Spidey is swinging through the city when he hears a cry for help. Thinking it’s a typical robbery and that the culprit has gone into the sewers he climbs into the darkness only to find it's actually some of the moleman’s henchmen. Why is Thor down in the sewers and will he help Spider-Man?
(7:20) Eddie learns when it comes to delivery services there are a lot of choices but there is a new sponsor better than the rest.
(9:04) “A Hitch in Time”
Peter Parker saves a woman from a mugging while Thor watches from above. Something strange starts to happen in the sky and Thor entraps Peter and himself inside a safe area as their surroundings get frozen in time.

Episode 70. James B and Eddie finish the 2-part Flash in Vietnam Spidey story with Dr. Strange. with some help from longtime listener and Spider-Fan Ian Cooper. Later Ian helps James B and Eddie breakdown Marvel Team Up #5 as Vision and Spider-Man battle The Puppet Master.
(2:00) The Amazing Spider-man 109 “Enter Dr. Strange!”
Peter is in crisis! He can’t go save Flash without looking cowardly to Gwen. He forms a plan to kidnap himself as Spider-man and although rather distressing for Gwen, it works! As he frantically swings about the city an ethereal Dr. Strange guides Spidey back to his sanctum. Using the Eye of Agamotto Dr. Strange gives Spidey a vision of the captive Flash and it doesn’t look good.

(13:10) Marvel Team-up 5 “A Passion of the Mind!” Featuring Spider-man and the Vision
Spider-man is out on a hot night swinging around when he sees a man disappear. Upon closer inspection he finds a distraught Vision! He brings him back to his apartment to rest.
Elsewhere, as he finishes his finest creation, the Puppet Master witnesses and investigates an alien ship crash. He finds a monstrous alien he names Monstroid and will send him to bring vengeance upon the Fantastic Four!

Episode 69. James B and Eddie finish the 3-part Spidey story with professor Smythe and his robots and start a new Spider-Man tale about Flash Thompson and Vietnam. Then James B surprises Eddie with a trivia game about issue 107.
(1:15) The Amazing Spider-man 107 “Spidey Smashes Thru!”
Professor Smythe has Spidey trapped in his web. He recalls his past defeats and returns tied up Spidey to his lair to show the gang leaders. Meanwhile on campus, Gwen wonders where Petey is as she talks to Randy. As she walks away Flash emerges from the bushes. He has a serious problem he can’t tell Gwen. Is Flash trying to say he has romantic feelings for Gwen here? Listen to find out.
(7:36) A new sponsor offers Eddie a great opportunity. After taking a dig at Betty Brant, will Eddie finally wise up and change jobs? Longtime listeners know the answer.
(10:10) The Amazing Spider-man 108 “Vengeance from Vietnam!”
Spidey is tailing a military car with Flash inside when it’s cut off by a truck. Gas grenades are thrown from the truck and the asian assailants muscle Flash out of the car. Spidey swings in and stops them. He grabs Flash and swings him to the top of a building to hear his story.

Episode 68. James B and Eddie return with Spidey from the Savage Land for two Spider-Man issues featuring professor Smythe and his robots.
(1:15) The Amazing Spider-man 105 “The Spider Slayer!”
JJJ is seeking vengeance for the humiliation Spidey put him through at the protest. He has commissioned Professor Smythe to build a new more powerful Spider Slayer. Smyth’s robot is formidable and through remote control JJJ takes it out to hunt.
(7:32) The Amazing Spider-man 106 “Squash! Goes the Spider!”
We open with Spidey realizing someone is watching him through a camera and he quickly puts his mask back on. Spidey realizes Smythe is behind his unmasking. He swings off to Dr. Connors where he molds a mask of his own face.
